Lawrence Electronic Recycling Event – Sat. Oct. 13

The City of Lawrence invites residents and small businesses to recycle unused or obsolete electronic equipment. Electronic equipment may contain hazardous components such as lead, mercury and cadmium. Recycling your unwanted electronic equipment keeps these hazardous components out of the landfill.

Rain or Shine Event

DATE: Saturday, October 13th
TIME: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Free State High School Parking Lot, 4700 Overland Drive

Items accepted for recycling:

  • Computers
  • Monitors*
  • Printers
  • Copiers
  • Scanners
  • Fax Machines
  • Televisions*
  • Video and Audio Equipment
  • Household Batteries
  • Cell Phones and other Hand Held Devices
  • Microwaves and other Small Appliances

* Recycling fee (Cash or Checks ONLY):

  • $10.00 per computer monitor
  • $15.00 per television
  • no charge for other electronics

Items NOT accepted:

  • Large Appliances (Refrigerators, AC Units, Dehumidifiers)
    • Contact the Solid Waste Division at (785) 832-3032 to arrange a pick up.
  • Hazardous Waste (Fluorescent Light Bulbs, Compressed Gas Cylinders)
    • Contact the Waste Reduction and Recycling Division to schedule an appointment at (785) 832-3030 to schedule a drop-off appointment at the City of Lawrence/Douglas County Household Hazardous Waste Facility.
