City Crews Prepare for Another Snowstorm

The City of Lawrence announced its street maintenance crews will be on duty at midnight Sunday night to prepare for a second round of potentially heavy snowfall in Lawrence.  The National Weather Service predicts up to 10-plus inches in Lawrence, depending on how the storm tracks.  Regardless, of track, it looks like Lawrence may receive at least six inches of snow between Monday afternoon and Tuesday daytime.

“At this time, we’re asking people to prepare for the second round of snow,” said Mark Thiel.  “Crews will work again on keeping main roadways open during the snowfall and then transition into neighborhoods once the majority of snow has fallen.”
The city has called in additional city resources and private contractors to assist.
The city will put out more information on the storm track later tonight and on Monday.  Visit www.lawrenceks.org/snow for more information during the storm.
