Trunk-or-Treat Only 5 Days Away!

Be there or be square! Only 5 days left until our Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday, October 30, from 3-5pm! We’ll have 15 different trunks, games, & activities – plus special guests like Dottie the Bookmobile – for kids to enjoy at the LMH Visitor Parking lot (4th and Arkansas St). There will be candy and fun galore! We’re also collecting nonperishable food & toiletry donations to help out two local pantries, so bring your donations to the event. See you there! 👻🎃

Pinkney Neighborhood Trunk-or-Treat: Sunday, Oct 30, from 3-5pm!

Don’t miss it! Join us for our first Trunk-or-Treat since 2019!

Sunday, October 30th * Lawrence Memorial Hospital Visitor Parking Lot (4th & Arkansas Streets)

Setup starts at 2pm * Event Runs from 3 to 5pm

Pinkney Neighborhood Association invites all Pinkney neighbors, Old West Lawrence residents, & Pinckney Elementary School students to our Trunk-or-Treat!

Every Pinkney Neighborhood social event is paired with a project to give back to our community. During our Trunk-or-Treat this year, we are giving a helping hand to pantries for Pinckney Elementary School and the Just Food pantry at Heartland Community Health Center.

Reminder! PNA’s August monthly meeting is tomorrow!

Don’t forget! PNA’s monthly meeting for August 2022 takes place tomorrow morning at 10am via Zoom. • Changing our Neighborhood Name

  Our neighborhood name of “Pinckney” was recently changed to “Pinkney.” This change occurred because Pinckney with a ‘c’ was associated with Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, a Revolutionary War general who signed the Constitution and who also was a slaveholder who believed slavery was fundamental to the American way of life (he owned a large plantation in South Carolina). Given this problematic history, neighborhood residents voted to change our neighborhood name. To learn more about the year-long process, go to our dedicated webpage. The final round of voting ultimately landed on the name of “Pinkney” in honor of William Pinkney, who gave a famous anti-slavery speech in 1789.
