Police HQ Bond Question: We’ll also discuss the upcoming ballot question during the election Tuesday November 4th.regarding issuance of a bond to fund construction of a new Policy Headquarters on north McDonald Drive. Last month we had guest speakers from the City and the hospital to explain the Police HQ project and several other options being considered to develop parts of the property. At this month’s PNA meeting we will spend a few minutes discussing potential benefits and impacts this project might have on the neighborhood.

Rezoning Request for 345 Florida: We will also discuss a zoning request that has been submitted to changes the building density for a plot of land at 4th and Florida. The zoning board will take comment and make a recommendation at their meeting on Monday October 20. If you have any concerns about this project, please let PNA know so we can present them to the Lawrence-Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Commission.

Consider a request to rezone approximately 1.1 acres from RSO (Single-Dwelling Residential-Office) District to RM24 (Multi-Dwelling Residential) District located at 345 Florida St. Submitted by Grob Engineering Services LLC on behalf of DCCCA Inc., property owner of record.

Sandra Shaw Park Dedication Ceremony: We’ll end our meeting just before 10:00 a.m. so we can attend the Dedication Ceremony for Pinckney Neighborhood’s newest park – Sandra J. Shaw Community Health Park. Outside for a Better Inside is hosting family fun activities following the ceremony until 2:00 p.m. The park is located just past the entrance to Burcham Park – north of the Water Treatment Plant (close to the site of the VFW).
