SHARE THE WARMTH Community Service Project – bring coats & jackets to the Pinckney Picnic

The Pinckney Neighborhood Potluck Picnic is coming up soon – Saturday June 22nd from 11:30 to 2:00 in Clinton Park. This year we will also participate in a community service project called “Share the Warmth.” Each year Scotch Fabric Care Services collects coats and jackets to be cleaned and distributed to the Salvation Army, who gives them to those in need. The motto for this project is “They’ll feel warm on the outside . . . you’ll fell warm on the inside.” Since beginning of the program in 1986, Scotch Fabric Care Services has collected well over 200,000 coats from the Topeka and Lawrence area.

Well, right now you can feel warm on both the outside and the inside by bringing any coats or jackets you know you won’t be using next year to the picnic. We will deliver them to Scotch Cleaners for the Share the Warmth project. If you have coats or jackets to donate, but can’t make it to the picnic, please contact Kim Heck at 785-331-9868 to arrange for drop-off or pick-up.
